Photographer Zhamak Fullad presents, “Dogtown”, her first solo photography exhibition In Vancouver at The Fall Tattooing and Gallery located at 644 Seymour St on Friday, September 26thfrom 8pm-2am.

Fuelled by a desire to create raw and unique images, Zhamak chose to photograph male friends and acquaintances in both digital and film format. “I already get my models to be natural” she states, “The grains of film capture that beautifully”. Without a need for flashy make-up and hair, Zhamak was able to put focus on her subjects vulnerable personalities and emotions.

“Dogtown” is an exhibit hoping to inspire us to step out of the self-obsessed world of social media faux-fame and into the world of true human connection.

Doors open at 8pm, admittance is by Donation (suggested donated of $2)

For Immediate Release: Artist Fang Ling Lee presents "Public Displays of Intimacy"

Within every being, there is an undeniable desire and insatiable appreciation for self-expression. It is only natural that we are inspired by each other.”  –Fang Ling Lee

Public Displays of Intimacy
Shining a light on our most personal moments

One cannot deny the astronomical impact that technological advancements have had on the way we communicate with one another.

Being social has never been easier, or more addictive. Friends, lovers, and “likes” are just a finger tap away. Likewise, our wants, needs, and loneliness, can be satisfied with the click of a button.

This series is about how technology has changed the way human beings express their sexuality.

This series is also about perspective.

Perspective 1:
“Selfies” an invention of the exhibitionists, allows one to show themselves from their own unique, unfetted perspective. The subject of the subject, they are sharing themselves by showing us what they see in the mirror.

Perspective 2:
“Voyeurs” an invention of the curious, the shy, the perverted. This perspective is at once closer, and farther away from it's subject. It is the viewpoint of the face in the crowd, the fan, the objectifier. They are sharing themselves by showing us what they see in their subject.

Public Displays Of Intimacy has allowed me to fulfill my objective of using only oils. In turn, I have had the opportunity to exercise a different technique, while enjoying the energy created by being abstract. With new tools, comes new talents, and while they form, I have been freed from expectation, and my own rigorous, compulsive perfection.

My artistry goal through this project, to paint looser but tighter. I searched for precision in the chaos, and found both drive, and impulse.

After coming down from the intense, and inspiring creative experience of being the Production Designer for the feature film, “The Red Man,” my education of seeing how dramatic lighting, frame and scenery can make or break a scene, has given me a renewed appreciation of context, and surroundings, which have also found their way into this series.

As such, Public Displays Of Intimacy is indebted to my experience on the Red Man film set, and for my new outlook on the themes, technology, and emotions that drive us to create, and drive us to share. It is both a blessing and curse to feel, experience and reflect so intense deeply and profoundly.

Kelly Shibari lends support to "Erotica With A Cause"

Kelly Shibari Returns to Edison, NJ to Meet Fans at EXXXOTICA Expo October 4 - 6

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EXXXOTICA BBW Performer of the Year at Fannys Trophy Creator & Progressive Artist Fang Ling Lee’s Booth All Weekend!

SEPTEMBER 29, 2013 –  EDISON, NJ

2013 EXXXOTICA BBW Performer of the Year Kelly Shibari will be returning to Edison, NJ, to meet fans at EXXXOTICA, October 4 - 6. During the 3-day love and sex expo, Kelly will be signing autographs for the show’s thousands of attendees; fans will also able to purchase Kelly’s DVDs and take photos with her.

Kelly will be appearing at artist Fang Ling Lee’s booth; a progressive artist with a successful niche in the adult industry, Fang is a long time EXXXOTICA exhibitor, who was commissioned earlier this year to design and create the one-of-a-kind, numbered trophies for EXXXOTICA’s fan-vote based awards, The Fannys. Admirers of Fang’s work spans from private collectors to a wide range of public personalities, including notable names Jenna Haze, Sasha Grey, and the Sorrentinos of Jersey Shore fame. The Erotic Heritage Museum in Las Vegas also includes Fang’s painting, “Pet,” in its permanent collection.

“I’m so pleased to be appearing at Fang Ling Lee’s booth this weekend,” says Kelly. “I was one of the very lucky ones to have an original Fannys trophy on my mantle at home. It only makes sense that I am able to thank my fans in person at her booth; it was because of them that I was able to win the award. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in Edison soon!”

Fang Ling Lee’s booth will take over a significant section of the EXXXOTICA show floor at the Edison show; part of the booth will be dedicated to “Erotica with a Cause” fundraiser project XOXO, an Erotic Art Exhibition featuring over 20 international artists, of which Fang is a curator. With proceeds going to help women’s shelters and other women’s causes, XOXO’s current exhibition, “Empowerment vs Exploitation,” focuses on the “sensuality and seductiveness of the female form, and how it has helped shape and mold the Internet landscape.”

“As a plus size adult entertainer, the internet and porn have definitely been integral to my own journey towards size acceptance and self-confidence,” adds Kelly. “The concept of XOXO’s collection, and its mission to then support and donate to women’s causes, makes me doubly proud to be appearing at Fang Ling Lee’s booth.”

As part of XOXO’s fundraising efforts, EXXXOTICA attendees will be able to enter a raffle to win a Fannys trophy of their own – Fang Ling Lee will present one lucky winner a copy of the iconic trophy, a sensual work of art that perfectly encapsulates the allure of the EXXXOTICA brand.

XOXO - Art, Love, and the Internet: UPDATE

UPDATE!

Due to recent developments we've changed the venue for our "XOXO" Art and Social Media Event on September 21st. The new location is at 49 Dunlevy Ave in the Railtown district of Vancouver.

Erotica with a Cause On September 21st, 2013 at 49 Dunlevy Ave -

DuJour Marketing is teaming up with renowned artist and curator Fang Ling Lee for an international erotic art exhibit and event, benefiting local charities.

Exploring the concept of "Empowerment vs. Exploitation", this exhibit will focus on the “sensuality and seductiveness of the female form; and how it has helped shape and mold the Internet landscape.”

Online muses such as nude models, pin up starlettes, burlesque beauties, and porn stars will serve as the inspiration for our artists’ creations. The choice of medium has been left at the discretion of the artist, allowing us to be surprised and challenged by their unique interpretation of our “Erotica meets the Internet” theme.

Fang Ling Lee, the strikingly strange and unconventional, sometimes capricious, always exquisite artist, who specializes in sensual portraiture, and erotically charged paintings acts as curator; while DuJour Marketing utilizes their expertise to bring a new social media element to the gallery show setting. Using a live Twitter and tweet up format; the artists, guests and media can interact and post about the art in real time. This opportunity allows the artists to connect to new patrons and markets, and will translate into a wider reach and audience than traditional shows.

With part proceeds going to help women’s shelters in the DTES, we are aiming to develop social awareness via social media.  Our physical location, in the Railtown design district; has been carefully chosen to target a specific demographic and capitalize on the cultural hub in Vancouver, British Columbia.

In addition to our presenting sponsor  Lords of Gastown, co-sponsors School of Mix, School of Remix, and  Hush Magazine invite you to take part in the premiere exhibition of XOXO Erotica – Art, Love, and the Internet.

“Hello, here I am. You need me in your life.”  – Fang Ling Lee

Fresh off a feature at the latest Exxxotica Expo in New Jersey, alternative artist FANG LING LEE is set to bring her art to the world. Focusing on the human form, Fang has paved her own way in the industry with her utilitarian approach to erotic art and a talent for making the genre accessible to a wider audience.

Fang Ling Lee has exhibited independently in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami and New York and has now shifted her focus to fine art galleries and publications; as well as working on art pieces for gallery group shows.

“The artwork of Fang Ling Lee focuses symbolic imagery conceived in large-scale paintings. Her work, of which

Almost is a fine example, shows a union of realism and abstraction in its depiction of female figures laden with symbolic importance.  Specializing in a notable sensual form of portraiture, her erotically charged images transform the viewer to voyeur, tempting them with a new vibrant fantasy.” – Fab.com
